The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) plays a pivotal role in managing and advancing the university's technological infrastructure.   • Hardware & Software: Procurement, installation, and maintenance of ICT systems.
  • Network Infrastructure: Design, implementation, and maintenance of the university’s network backbone.
  • Web & Portal Services: Development, maintenance, and security of COOU’s digital platforms.
  • ICT Buildings: Oversight and maintenance of ICT-related physical infrastructure.

The unit’s mandate extends beyond systems management to include procurement, supervision, training, and optimization — all aimed at ensuring reliability, security, and cost-effective ICT services across COOU campuses.

Establishment and Objectives

Established in April 2008, the ICT Unit was founded to coordinate all ICT-related activities within the university. Its core objectives include:
