AGULUEZECHUKWU CONFERS PRESTIGIOUS UGOCHIMEREZE TITLE ON VICE-CHANCELLOR

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, FNIPR, has been honoured at Aguluezechukwu with the conferment of the traditional title Ugochimereze of Aguluezechukwu. The event, which attracted notable community leaders, dignitaries, and residents, celebrated her distinguished leadership, dedication to service, and significant contributions to education and societal advancement.

The traditional honour was bestowed by the revered monarch of Aguluezechukwu, His Royal Highness, Igwe F. E. Ebelendu (Igwe Nnanyelugo I), who commended the Vice-Chancellor as a leader of vision and integrity whose influence extends beyond the University and aligns with the core values and aspirations of the community.

Accompanied by members of the University Management, as well as friends and well-wishers, the Vice-Chancellor’s presence at the colourful ceremony reflected the broad institutional support she enjoys. The University delegation was warmly welcomed by the host community, further reinforcing the cordial and collaborative relationship between the University and surrounding communities.

In her response, Prof. Omenugha expressed sincere appreciation to the traditional ruler and the people of Aguluezechukwu for the rare recognition, noting that the Ugochimereze title would inspire greater commitment to impactful service, inclusive leadership, and strategic partnerships that advance education and community development. She reaffirmed the University’s resolve to sustain mutually beneficial engagements with communities across the state and beyond.
