Established in 2000 under Law No. 13 by the Anambra State Government, our university has evolved from a 2-campus structure to a distinguished institution with a rich history of academic excellence.
Originally situated at Uli and Igbariam campuses, we have grown from inheriting assets and liabilities of the former Ekwenugo Okeke Polytechnic and College of Agriculture to becoming a leading center for higher education in Nigeria.
In 2006, our commitment to academic progress led to a significant change as we transitioned to Anambra State University (now, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University), aligning with the recommendations for a conventional university structure.
We proudly welcome Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha as our Acting Vice Chancellor, bringing with her a wealth of experience in education and human capital development. With a distinguished career at Nnamdi Azikiwe University and exemplary service as a former Commissioner for Education, Professor Omenugha embodies our dedication to academic excellence and innovation.Ā
