COOU VICE CHANCELLOR, PROF. KATE AZUKA OMENUGHA, SPEAKS AT THE 10TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE (IIC10) OF THE INTER-UNIVERSITY CONSORTIUM AFRICA

The Inter-University Consortium Africa (IUCA) is a strategic collaboration between African and European universities dedicated to addressing contemporary challenges confronting the African continent.

As the immediate past host of the International Conference of the Inter-University Consortium Africa, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), under the visionary leadership of Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, was ably represented by Prof. Nwobi Okoye and Prof. Ngọzi Joe-Ikechebelu, the University’s Director of Linkages, at the 10th International Conference (IIC10) held at Kyambogo University, Kampala, Uganda.

The event, which commenced on November 5th and concluded on November 6th, 2025, was chaired by the COOU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha.

Speaking through the COOU delegates, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha congratulated the Consortium for achieving a significant milestone by successfully organizing its 10th International Conference. She noted that since the Consortium’s establishment in 2013, through the visionary partnership between Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Nigeria, and the University of Eldoret (UoE), Kenya, the IUCA has made remarkable strides in academic cooperation, and institutional growth.

Prof. Kate Omenugha also unveiled the Consortium’s Development Strategic Plan, designed to guide its activities, research priorities, and global partnerships over the next decade.

In her remarks, she encouraged the Consortium to remain steadfast in the founding vision, to build a collaborative framework that transcends borders and disciplines, enhances academic exchange, and contributes meaningfully to addressing real-world challenges across Africa and beyond.

The host Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eli Katunguka, alongside Vice Chancellors of other member universities, Madam Turyagenda Kedrace, and the Ugandan Minister of Education, were all in attendance.

Congratulations to the Inter-University Consortium Africa on this milestone achievement.
