On Tuesday, April 16th, 2023, there was a transition of leadership within the COOUNewS social media unit as Comrade Collins E. Okelue gracefully handed over the baton to Mr. Ifeanyi Emesiani, the new Chief Coordinator. The handover was announced by the University Public Relations Officer which preceded the proper handover.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Madubeze lauded the exemplary work of the outgoing Chief Coordinator while setting high expectations for Mr. Emesian to build upon this foundation and propel COOUNewS to greater heights. Dr. Harrison Madubeze also emphasized the keen interest of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha fnipr, in the success of COOUNewS, urging the new Coordinator to lead with diligence and innovation.
The handover ceremony witnessed the presence of key figures that works closely with the Public Relations unit such as Comr. Casmir Obiakor, PhD (Coordinator of the COOUNEWS Bulletin), Dr. Gideon Nwafor (Coordinator of the COOUNEWS Magazine), Victoria Munachi (Member, University Magazine Committee).
Additionally, Mr. Emeka Nwagwu, the Personal Assistant to the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, and Mr. Christopher Oharism, the Immediate Campus Head of COOUNewS, contributed to the event with their presence.
The emergence of Mr. Ifeanyi Emesiani denotes a new chapter for COOUNewS marked by continuity, dedication, and a shared vision for advancing the unit’s mission in line with the Ag. Vice Chancellor’s 3Vs.
As the new coordinator, Mr. Emesiani Ifeanyi is expected to lead with integrity and creativity, ensuring that COOUNewS remains a dynamic force within the university community and beyond.
