ULI PROGRESSIVE UNION PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT

The University Management, led by the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, fnipr, warmly received a delegation from the Uli Progressive Union (UPU) on Thursday, March 21, 2024. The delegation was headed by Mr. Callistus Obinakaba, the President General of the Uli community.

In his address, the President General commended the Acting Vice Chancellor for recognizing the importance of engaging with the town. He highlighted the historical ties between the University and Uli town, acknowledging the pivotal role of the Vice Chancellor as an Astute Educationist. He expressed hopes that her legacy would endure through time.

 

The purpose of the courtesy visit was to address various concerns, including security issues, medical facilities, power supply, encroachment on University lands, and structural issues within the campus. The President General also emphasized the importance of enhancing student welfare to positively impact their academic experience.

In response, the dynamic Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, emphasized the potential of the University and pledged to address the rehabilitation needs of the Uli campus. She stressed the importance of collaborative efforts between the University and the community to achieve this goal, citing her passion for transformative change.

 

The Ag. Vice Chancellor commended the community for their efforts in maintaining peace and security within the University grounds. She shared her vision for enhancing the effectiveness of the University and assured the delegation of government support in advancing higher education.

Concluding the meeting with a vote of thanks, Ichie Ossy Igbonwelundu expressed gratitude to the Acting Vice Chancellor for her openness to dialogue and for welcoming the community’s input.
