COOU VC VISITS ATIAT HEADQUARTERS, EXPLORES NEW PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

On 14th September, 2026, the Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, FNIPR, visited the headquarters of Atiat Limited in Victoria Island, Lagos, as part of efforts to deepen the University's Town and Gown philosophy and expand opportunities for its students and graduates.

The visit, which took place at the Atiat headquarters, provided an opportunity for the Vice-Chancellor to engage with the Managing Director, Mr. Kanayo Eni-Ikeh, and explore further areas of partnership and collaboration between the University and the organisation.

A major area of the emerging collaboration is the Eni-Ikeja Foundation, through which a Centre for Business and Enterprise Development is being established at COOU. The initiative is envisioned as a platform that will expose students to practical enterprise knowledge, business development and opportunities beyond the traditional classroom.

During the engagement, the Managing Director also expressed the Foundation's commitment to providing employment opportunities for exceptional COOU graduates, with opportunities to work at Atiat in Lagos. He noted that two COOU graduates are currently working with Atiat and have been performing exceptionally well, demonstrating the quality of talent emerging from the University.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation for the partnership and the confidence being placed in COOU students and graduates, noting that meaningful University-industry relationships must translate into opportunities, experience and platforms for young people to thrive.
