NURSING SCIENCES PRESENTS MODIFIED COASTER BUS TO MANAGEMENT

How departments strategically align with the Vice Chancellor’s 3Vs trajectory is a conversation best reserved for thoughtful reflection. However, recent developments within the institution make such alignment impossible to ignore.

From the commendable strides of the Department of Food Science, which continues to project the institution positively, to the Department of Nursing Sciences making a bold statement of purpose, it is evident that no department is lagging behind in translating vision into action.

It will be recalled that following a successful accreditation exercise, the Department of Nursing Sciences received a Coaster Bus from the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, with a mandate to rehabilitate and deploy it in the interest of the department.

Yesterday, 21st January, 2026, the Department of Nursing Sciences, led by its indefatigable Head of Department, Dr. Ada Ibekwe, formally presented the refurbished Coaster Bus back to the Management as a demonstration that the earlier task entrusted to them had been diligently and satisfactorily executed.

Speaking after the presentation, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, commended the HOD, Dr. Ada Ibekwe and the patriotic parent who collaborated to ensure that the vehicle was restored to full functionality, safe, roadworthy, and fit for purpose.

The gesture stands as a clear testament to institutional responsibility, problem-solving capacity, and the willingness to surmount challenges irrespective of their complexity.

In a light-hearted moment accompanied by a warm smile, the Vice Chancellor expressed her delight and jokingly promised to assign even more responsibilities to the department, noting how pleased she was with the outcome of the presentation.
