COOU Joins Umuawulu to Honour High Chief Dr. Christopher C. Ndubuisi

Umuawulu, Anambra State — September 27, 2025: Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) joined the people of Umuawulu for a colourful civic reception in honour of its Governing Council member, High Chief Dr. Christopher Chukwunwogo Ndubuisi, KSJI, the Ikenga Umuawulu. Hosted by the Umuawulu Ambassadors, the event drew a broad cross-section of dignitaries and community leaders who hailed him as a beacon of development and a steadfast partner in educational advancement.

Speakers at the ceremony highlighted the sweeping scale of Dr. Ndubuisi’s community investments. His projects include the construction of 35.5 kilometres of roads and drainages that have opened new corridors for commerce and mobility, the installation of more than 5,000 solar-powered street lights that have improved security and extended economic activity into the night, the building and upgrade of schools that have expanded access to quality learning, and the provision of boreholes and other water initiatives that have strengthened public health. Attendees described these interventions as transformative footprints that continue to lift living standards across Umuawulu.

COOU’s delegation underscored the honouree’s enduring impact on the University’s growth trajectory. Dr. Ndubuisi built a world-class ICT Centre that now houses the University’s Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Education Hub as well as the Research Management Office, critical infrastructure positioning COOU at the forefront of innovation and research. He is also constructing a Banquet Auditorium—currently at the roofing stage—envisioned as a landmark venue for academic ceremonies, conferences, and civic engagements. University officials noted that these contributions reflect a clear conviction that private-sector partnership is vital to the progress of public institutions, and that a sincere love of education is best expressed through sustained investment.

Throughout the celebrations, tributes emphasised generosity, vision, and measurable results. Community members and University representatives alike framed Dr. Ndubuisi’s record as both a model of citizenship and a catalyst for future progress. They added that the breadth of his philanthropy—spanning infrastructure, education, and institutional capacity—has created a development template other communities can emulate.

COOU expressed profound appreciation for Dr. Ndubuisi’s service and leadership, affirming pride in standing with the Umuawulu Ambassadors to honour him. The University noted that as the Banquet Auditorium rises and the AI and Robotics agenda gathers momentum, the legacy being celebrated—a legacy of light, impact, and inspiration—will continue to shape lives within Umuawulu and far beyond.
