COOU Holds Supplementary Induction Ceremony for 17 Medical Graduates

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) on 4th February 2026 held a Supplementary Induction Ceremony for seventeen (17) medical graduates of the College of Medicine at Amaku COOUTH, Awka. The ceremony marked another significant milestone in the university’s commitment to producing qualified and competent medical professionals.

Present at the occasion were distinguished members of the College, including the revered Prof. Lawrence Ikeako, who formally presented the inductees for induction. Also in attendance were the Head of Department of Paediatrics, Dr. Chinenye Uju, and the Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (DCMAC), Dr. Ifeoma Njelita, who delivered the vote of thanks.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, FNIPR, was ably represented by Prof. N. Nnorom, DAP. The event was further graced by the representative of the Registrar of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), Prof. Bismarck Eke of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Enugu.

In his remarks, Prof. Nze commended the inductees for their resilience and dedication throughout their training, urging them to uphold the ethics and standards of the medical profession. The ceremony reaffirmed COOU’s adherence to regulatory requirements and excellence in medical education.

The event concluded on a joyful and thankful note as prayers were offered for the success of the newly inducted doctors as they embark on their professional journey.
