Governor Soludo Delivers on Promise: COOU Now Enjoys 100% Free Internet WiFi


In yet another demonstration of commitment to enhancing academic excellence and digital transformation, the Governor of Anambra State and Visitor to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, has fulfilled his promise to provide the University with 100% free internet WiFi access.

The newly launched Solution_free_WiFi network is now fully operational, offering impressive speeds:

•Download Speed: 4.30 Mbps

•Upload Speed: 16.5 Mbps

•Link Speed: 360 Mbps

This free WiFi service covers strategic areas within the University, including:

•The Administrative Complex

•Chief Christopher Ndubuisi Centre for Innovation

•Afrihub ICT Complex

•The University Library Complex


The University community extends sincere appreciation to Governor Soludo for this transformative step, which will significantly boost teaching, research, and innovation across COOU. This achievement marks another milestone in the Solution Footprints—a track record of impactful projects delivered under his administration.

As the first of its kind in the University, the free WiFi service is expected to revolutionize access to academic resources, foster collaboration, and accelerate the institution’s move toward a fully digital learning environment.
