On 10th April, 2024. The Head, Department of Psychology COOU in the person of Dr. Chinwe . I. Onyemaechi Who is currently the General Secretary of the Nigerian Association of Clinical Psychologists (NACP) paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman, Board of Trustee Nigerian Association of Clinical Psychologists in the person of HRM. Igwe Professor Emeritus Peter .O. Ebigbo at his Psychological Center; International Federation of Psychotherapy (IFP) in Enugu State, Nigeria.
The BOT Chairman congratulated the Head of the Department noting that “her appointment isn’t by chance because her dedication, loyalty, emotional intelligence, stewardship, and leadership skills have earned her this prestigious position.
In his words “… there’s no doubt that you will excel marvelously in this role as the pilot of one of the fastest growing academic disciplines in the world and make significant contributions to sustainable development of the department, particularly, now that the world needs Psychologists…”, he encouraged her to break boundaries to take the Department of Psychology COOU to a greater feat just as she’s doing in Nigerian Association of Clinical Psychologists (NACP) where she’s currently serving as the General Secretary.
While appreciating the globally visible and upward mobile Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha for finding her worthy of this revered position, He prayed that the kingmaker (God) will give the Vice Chancellor the wisdom and strength to fulfill the mandate expected of her.
The visit aims towards achieving the 3 V’s of the Now University by Vice Chancellor Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha which are Values, Viability and Visibility. HRM. Igwe Professor Emeritus P. O. Ebigbo haven learnt of the 3 V’s, assured and reassured Dr. Chinwe Onyemaechi of his unalloyed support to the growth and development of the department of psychology COOU within and outside the university starting with granting the department access for her students’ Field Trip / and internship programs at his Psychological Center; International Federation of Psychotherapy (IFP) and African Network For The Prevention And Protection Against Child Abuse And Neglect (NAPPCAN Nigerian Chapter). This is a great opportunity for the students because Prof.’s Center is one of the best in Africa. Moreso, they would have the opportunity to learn directly from the founder of “Harmony Restoration Therapy”.
