COOU VICE CHANCELLOR PAYS AN UNSCHEDULED VISIT TO THE ULI CAMPUS OF THE UNIVERSITY

~ inspects the University facility.

~ as Uli Progressives Union assures her of continued Community-University relations.

~ promises better welfare package to casual workers at the University

 

ULI: The Ag. Vice Chancellor, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Prof. Kate Azuka Omemugha on Tuesday 19th March 2024 paid an unscheduled visit to the Uli Campus of the University.

 

The Ag. Vice Chancellor embarked on a facility visit upon arrival on campus. Speaking to COOUNewS shortly after the visits, she explained that the essence of the tour was to see things for herself regarding issues of land encroachment, water scarcity, accommodation challenges, infiltrations by miscreants as well as other associated vices.

 

“… We are here to see things for ourselves and to ensure we explore all avenues to enable our staff and students to continue to enjoy a peaceful learning environment. We have taken note of all issues and reports and all I can say is that we shall do all we can to add value by creating a more conducive environment for our Staff and students. We must tackle the issue of the unfenced female hostel as well as restore power and water supply in the hostel…” she said.

 

The President General of Uli Progressive Union, Engr. Eric Odinakaba who mobilized the Members of the Uli Progressive Union Executive and Uli Council of Chiefs within a short notice, thanked the Ag. Vice Chancellor for the prompt visit to the Campus and the Community and assured the University Community that Uli people are happy to see the Management of the University in their numbers. He further assured that the Community will always be ready to assist in the sustainable development of the University.

 

Also present on prompt notice include the Local Government Transition Chairman of Ihiala Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Anayo Orjiakor, the State Secretary of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, Hon Engr Sir Levi Obiaduo, Barr. Maxwell Udechukwu, among others.

 

In company of the Ag. Vice Chancellor are; Prof. Mathias Ananti, Deputy Vice Chancellor -Administration, Sir. Chris Obi, the University Registrar, Dr. Uche Enweani, the University Acting Librarian, the Director of Physical Planning, Arch Peter Okpala and the University’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Harrison Madubueze.
