COOU Set To Streamline Criteria For Promotion To Professoral Cadre As Committee Submits Report

The Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, on Friday 12th April 2024 received the report of the University Committee on Professoral Cadre Promotion.

Presenting the report, the Chairman of the Committee, Prof. Elis Idemobi, thanked the Ag. Vice Chancellor for the opportunity to serve the University in such a timely manner, stating that a lot of resources were put in place to give the University the best practices in the way and manner things will be done going forward.

In response, Prof. Omenugha thanked the Committee for their due diligence and timely submission of such an important assignment stating that the Committee was among the first set of Committees set up a few months ago and presenting the report is evidence of the fact that the administration chose the egg-heads.

She assured that the report would be studied by the Management; “… we will study the report at the management level and see how to begin. What we must do here is to ensure we meet the basic minimum standards and promote global ethical best practices in what we do and we are convinced that things will certainly get better as we vigorously pursue the Values, Viability, and Visibility (3Vs) agenda of the University…” she said.

Members of the Committee include; Prof. Elis Idemobi, Prof. O. B. C. Nwankwo, Prof. Nnamdi Obikeze, Prof. K.K. Nwozor, and Mrs. Eucharia Abafor who served as the Secretary.

The report was received by the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha alongside the University Registrar, Sir. Chris Obi and the University Public Relations Officer, Dr Harrison Madubueze.
