ANSU Host International Organizations

In what could be described as summit of International Organizations for Advancement of Anambra State University, the Institution has continued to excel in leaps and bounds breaking even in international circles.

 At Uli main Campus of the University some International Organizations gathered to donate books of various international standards in various discipline towards the advancement of the Institution. The Organizations include Anambra State Association (ASA) USA, incorporated, Student Aid Foundation; Education  Support Initiative for Africa; United Kingdom and UJuokris Foundation for the Elderly along side collaborating Universities , Baton Rouge University USA, Southern University USA, Lagos State University and Nnamdi Azikiwe University. The books are in the fields of Criminal Justice, Management, Political Science, Agriculture and other education supports.

 Presenting books worth over ten million naira (N10,000000:00) to the Vice Chancellor of Anambra State University, the President of Anambra State Association USA incorporated. Dr Allison Anadi on-behalf of other donor Organizations commended the authorities of Anambra State University for the academic standard and aesthetic milieu of the Institution, stressing that it is for advancement of knowledge and research that the various International Organizations collaborate with some Universities in Nigeria to donate these multi-discipline books.

 Earlier, the Executive Director, Education Support Initiative for Africa (ESIfA) United Kingdom, Dr Ismail Ibraheem stated that the organization has been of immense benefit to the society as it has through its partnership with Cambridge University Press, Royal Society of Philosophers and American Political Science donated books to such countries like Ethiopia and Uganda  since 2008. He said that realizing the need for the advancement of knowledge in Nigeria, they have been working in the country since 2010 stressing that Prof. Abubakar Momoh of Lagos University facilitated the collaboration with Anambra State University for these books donations

 The Vice Chancellor of Anambra State University Prof. Fidelis Okafor while appreciating the International Organizations including collaborating Universities from USA and Nigeria, described as historic and International Day in the University for attracting International and National attention for the advancement of knowledge and research. He implored them not to relent in their human development endeavuors for partnering with Anambra State University. We appreciate you for internationalizing this Institution, the Vice Chancellor posited.

 The helms-man of Anambra State University, Prof. Fidelis Okafor informed the public that Anambra State University students tagged NUTA-BOLTS Racing Team shall participate in a competition in Silverstone Circuit United Kingdom to present their first Nigeria Racing Car called (Ugo) between 2nd and 7th July, 2013. The Team is one out of 110 teams that emerged out of over 5000 Universities in the world that applied. AnambraStateUniversity is the only University in Nigeria with Egypt to represent Africa in the competition. The Vice Chancellor appealed to the government and good people of Nigeria to help fund the fabrication of this first ever Nigeria racing car as the team has finished fabricating the chassis frame of the car. This team will certainly make Nigeria proud in the Competition, lets give them our support ”, Anambra State University Vice-Chancellor appealed.

In his contribution the facilitator of the project and Coordinator Pre-degree programme, Igbariam Campus Anambra State University Don Chike Osegbue expressed joy that the mission and vision of the University are being met adding that with the summit of organizations at the University and promises made by Corporate Bodies and Institution to partner and collaborate with the Institution, Anambra State University shall soon be a bee-hive of activities for intellectual harvesting. He extollerd the University Administration for being focused and resolute in realizing the cardinal points of teaching, learning and research.

 Present at the occasion were a member of the University Governing Council, Venerable Prof. Israel Okoye, the Education Commissioner representative, Mrs. Onyemelukwe, Anambra State University Principal Officers, Deans, Directors and other International Organizations’ representatives among them, Tunde Olakunle, Mad Eric, Ubani Lovett and Mrs. Uju Akabogu of Ujuokris Foundation.

 Highlight on the occasion was the presentation and donation of books to the Vice Chancellor and group photographs.
