In celebration of her one year in office, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, graced the University Trade Fair 1.0 with her presence today, December 5, 2024. The vibrant event, held in front of the Faculty of Arts building, was organized by the Committee on Business Ventures, led by Mr. Collins Okelue, to provide a platform for vendors to showcase and sell their products.

The Trade Fair was a colorful and bustling affair, with CEOs and entrepreneurs exhibiting a wide array of items, including trendy clothing, accessories, beauty products, footwear, baked goods, kitchenware, and fragrances. The highlight of the day was the announcement of the raffle draw winners, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony to mark Prof. Omenugha’s first year as Vice Chancellor.

Prof. Omenugha personally visited every stand, engaging with vendors and purchasing items, further underscoring her commitment to fostering entrepreneurship within the university community. In her remarks, she described the event as “awesome, beautiful, marvelous, fabulous, stellar, superb, unsurpassed, and fantabulous,” reflecting the vibrant energy and success of the Trade Fair.

The Vice Chancellor’s leadership over the past 365 days has transformed COOU into a hub of innovation and activity. Her inspiration and support have energized the university community, driving initiatives like the Trade Fair and setting the stage for continued growth.

As COOU continues to soar under her guidance, events like the Trade Fair highlight the institution’s commitment to entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
