Aims and Scope of Ikemba International Journal of Philosophy

Ikemba International Journal of Philosophy is a departmental journal of the Department of Philosophy of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, Anambra State, Nigeria. It is an academic, research journal on Philosophy, aimed at exploring the basic ideas, and the principal writings of philosophers of all ages from the world as a whole.

Our aim is to be truly global in scope, covering the thoughts and writings of philosophers from all corners of the globe. Therefore, we welcome theoretical, analytical, quantitative, qualitative, empirical, and rational contributions especially on works on core philosophy.

Our target audience is not just scholars, but also policy-makers and public sector leaders engaged in education, Humanities, Social and Natural Science and research in the growing global public service, policy, and administration, and governance community.

We want to draw on the insight of both the ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary philosophic systems to advance research and dialogue on issues of global significance. So this journal is accessible to the widest possible audience, while maintaining the necessary rigour, alacrity and highly scholarly standards.

We include not just cutting edge research, but also feature interviews or opinion pieces from leading philosophy scholars and policy makers; symposia and debates; and issues of topics of special philosophical interest. Hence, it engages established and emerging scholars from anywhere in the world. Although it is highly centered in philosophy, is open and welcoming to contributions from many disciplines and approaches that meet at the crossroads with philosophical studies. Our hope is that this international journal may contribute in a substantial way to make people to know, love and embrace philosophy so that the world may become a better place.
