COOU VC ENGAGES LAGOS-BASED ALUMNI, REINFORCES COMMITMENT TO STRONGER ALUMNI NETWORK

The Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, FNIPR, has engaged with some distinguished alumni of the University in Lagos, in continuation of her efforts to strengthen the University's relationship with its alumni community.

The meeting, held at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, brought together accomplished alumni and friends of the University, including Dr. Chike Mgbeadichie, Head, Department of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, Lekki-Epe; Barr. Chike Oguejiofor, Head of the Central and West African Legal Unit at Maersk; and Dr. Chiedu Ojameye, Executive Director, VNL Capital Asset Management. Also present was the University's Public Relations Officer, Dr. Harrison Madubueze.

The engagement centred on the importance of building a strong, active and well-connected COOU Alumni body, recognising that the growth and reputation of a university are closely connected to the achievements and contributions of its graduates across different sectors and locations.

The Vice-Chancellor highlighted the University's Global Alumni Database, an initiative designed to strengthen the University's connection with its alumni, provide an organised platform for engaging graduates and enable the institution to better track the growth, achievements and professional journeys of its alumni.

She emphasised that “a university is as big as its alumni,” stressing the need for COOU to maintain meaningful relationships with its graduates and create platforms through which alumni can contribute to the University's continued development.

The engagement forms part of the University's ongoing efforts to build a vibrant alumni community and deepen the relationship between COOU and her graduates across the globe.
