Brief History

BRIEF HISTORY OF FACULTY OF PHYSICAL SCIENCES

 The Faculty of Physical Sciences was an integral part of the former Faculty of Sciences, which was demerged from the Faculty of Sciences in 2014 under the administration of Prof. F. U. Okafor with the mission of producing highly skilled and intellectual manpower to meet the strategic needs of the nation through the public and private sectors. The faculty is made up of six (6) Departments namely; Computer Science, Geology, Pure & Industrial Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics and Industrial Physics. These Departments have trained and are training high skilled manpower through teaching and research at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition, Faculty of Physical Sciences is also transforming to meet the needs of emerging global demand by e-learning through Distance Learning Programmes.
