On Tuesday, 28th October 2025, the Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, received the delegation from the Taenprowiz Fish Production Business System and Technology team on a courtesy visit to the University Management at her conference room. The team, led by its coordinator, Mr. Emeka Iloghalu, was in the University for the launch, induction, and training of 200 youths in Anambra State on Table Fish Production Business System.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Iloghalu explained that Taenprowiz is an initiative aimed at addressing the challenges of fish production through innovative methods and training that equip young people with the skills to become self-reliant in aquaculture.
The Director of Entrepreneurship of the University, Prof. Uzoka, commended the partnership, noting that discussions on fish production have been ongoing with the ECOWAS team and that COOU students have greatly benefited from Mr. Iloghalu’s expertise as a consultant to the School of Entrepreneurship. He praised his persistence and passion, describing him as a visionary whose efforts have earned him the Governor’s trust to oversee fish production in Anambra State.
In her remarks, the Vice Chancellor appreciated the Taenprowiz team and ECOWAS Commission for their efforts toward agriculture and food security. She emphasized that COOU is deeply committed to achieving Zero Hunger and No Poverty in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. According to her, the University’s Healthy Living Farm demonstrates this commitment as it promotes organic farming and sustainability while serving as a training ground for students, especially those in the Faculty of Agriculture.
Prof. Omenugha added that the University’s 3Vs— Value, Viability and Visibility—align with the goals of sustainable food production. She expressed optimism for more partnerships that will strengthen innovation, entrepreneurship, and food security, stressing that both staff and students remain the greatest beneficiaries of these ongoing initiatives.
