In a show of gratitude and academic solidarity, the Faculty of Physical Sciences, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), on October 17, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, to express appreciation for her consistent support and encouragement toward the successful hosting of the faculty’s 7th International Conference. The visit, held at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room, had in attendance the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Mathias Ananti, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Osita Chiaghanam, alongside senior lecturers, Heads of Departments under the Faculty of Physical Sciences, and other senior members of university management.
Leading the delegation, the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences, Prof. Onyema Iloh, commended the Vice-Chancellor for her visionary leadership, which he said inspired the faculty’s excellence and visibility. He attributed the success of the international conference to Prof. Omenugha’s hospitality, guidance, and commitment to academic advancement, noting that her guiding philosophy of the 3Vs — Value, Viability, and Visibility — provided the framework that enabled the faculty to thrive and place the university prominently on the global academic map.
Prof. Iloh further presented conference materials and a framed portrait of the Vice-Chancellor as tokens of appreciation for her steadfast support and strategic direction. He extolled her resilience and transformative leadership, describing her as a source of inspiration whose policies have consistently fostered innovation, teamwork, and institutional growth.
In her response, Prof. Omenugha expressed delight over the faculty’s achievements and appreciation, commending them as one of the most functional and proactive academic units in the university. She emphasized that her recognition of their performance was not flattery but a reflection of their visible impact and commitment. Reiterating the importance of the 3Vs, the Vice-Chancellor encouraged the faculty to remain loyal to these principles, assuring that consistent alignment with Value, Viability, and Visibility would continue to elevate COOU as a beacon of academic excellence and innovation.
