Dr. Chukwunonso Ekesiobi, Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor (Strategy & Policy Implementation), has emerged as a recipient of the Gold Medal Award of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES) at the ongoing 66th edition of the society's annual conference, taking place at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.
The award was presented to Dr. Chukwunonso by the National President Prof. Adeola Adenikinju, in recognition of his meritorious service to the NES over time and his current roles as National Students' Liaison Officer, Special Assistant (Students Affairs) to the NES National President, Secretary of NES, Southeast Zone, and Anambra State Chapter.
The Department of Economics, COOU, comprising staff and students led by the Head of Department, Prof. Ogonna Ifebi, is currently participating in the conference and was well-represented at the award ceremony. They are also actively engaged in the conference in various roles as part of COOU's visibility drive.
Congratulations to Dr. Chukwunonso Ekesiobi and to COOU for contributing to the ongoing economic discourse aimed at further improving the Nigerian economy.
