Aims and Objectives

 AIMS/OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT

 The aim of department of History and International Studies of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University is to train students to have a high knowledge of our immediate, National and International environment. This will help them to be grounded on the history, historiography and studies of local, national and international relations and diplomacy as well as economic growth.

The objectives includes:

1. To give students a thorough training in the studies of history and historiography of Nigeria as well as African and the wider world.

2. To give students sound training in the area of international studies especially as it concerns international relations and diplomacy of the major world powers.

3. To give students a comprehensive knowledge of political and economic analysis of events and the trajectory of its development and how it impacts on the society at large.
