This is to inform the 2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022, 2022/2023, and 2023/2024 Graduands of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University,
Anambra State, Parents/Guardians, Alumni, Friends, Stakeholders of the University, and the Public that activities marking the
10th – 15th Combined Convocation ceremonies for the award of First Degrees, Higher Degrees, as well as Honorary Degrees (Honoris Causa)
and other honours will take place from Tuesday, 20th – Saturday, 24th May, 2025. The University will also celebrate her Silver Jubilee (25th Anniversary) during the week.

• Homecoming / Back to Our Roots: Interdenominational Church Service at ETF Auditorium, Uli Campus (11:00 a.m.)

Wednesday, 21st May 2025

• Founders and Heritage Day: Awards, Public Presentation, and Launching of the COOU Anniversary Book at TETFund Auditorium, Igbariam Campus
• Alumni Dinner – Networking, Luncheon, and Awards (7:00 p.m.) – Venue: TBC

• Documentary on COOU @25 and Convocation Lecture at ETF Auditorium, Igbariam Campus (11:00 a.m.)

• Convocation Ceremony for First Degrees at Convocation Arena, Igbariam Campus (11:00 a.m.)

• Convocation Ceremony for Higher Degrees, including Postgraduate Diplomas (PGD), Masters of Science (M.Sc), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) and Honorary Doctorates (Honoris Causa) at Convocation Arena, Igbariam Campus (11:00 a.m.)

Convocation Fees

• First Degree: N25,000
• Masters of Science (M.Sc) and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD): N70,000
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) (includes purchase of academic gown and other items): N120,000

Mode of Payment

• Visit: https://portal.coou.edu.ng
• Click on the Sundry button
• Select “payment” from the drop-down menu
• Generate a payment Invoice and pay online or at any bank of your choice
• Print your Remita payment receipt for collection of Convocation Materials

• First Degree Graduands must pay the stipulated convocation fee during clearance.
• All Higher Degree Graduands must pay for:
  • Order of Proceedings/Convocation Brochure
  • Academic Outfits
  • Certificate Scrolls
  • COOU T-shirt or Hoodie Jacket
  • COOU Cap
  • COOU Tie or Scarf
  • COOU Lapel Pin

• Participation in the academic procession and wearing the approved academic regalia is mandatory.
• Graduands must dress in formal attire:
  • Men: Suit, shirt, and tie
  • Ladies: Suit, skirt and blouse, gown, or full national dress
• Undergraduate regalia is collected from respective Faculties/Departments; Postgraduate materials from the School of Postgraduate Studies, Igbariam Campus.
• Distribution of convocation materials begins on Friday, 2nd May 2025.
• Graduands must provide proof of payment before receiving materials.
• Graduands should gather in front of the Administrative Building at Igbariam Campus for the daily procession.
• All rented academic gowns must be returned by Friday, 30th May 2025. Late returns incur a penalty of N50,000.
• Payment begins Tuesday, 15th April 2025.
• Security Tips:
  • Bags and luggage are not allowed inside the Convocation Arena.
  • Parking only in designated areas.
  • Follow security personnel directions on arrival.
  • Hawking near the Convocation Arena is not permitted.
